Bloggerstock: I'm Not Thankful For....

Here's the Bloggerstock post I was telling everyone about yesterday.  This month's guest blog is by the lovely Toya over at Ms. Harmony!  If you're interested in reading my post on the topic go check out Starving, Insatiable.

So here we are again with another Bloggerstock post. For those who doesn't know, Bloggerstock aims to link a bunch of bloggers together in a “blog-ring.”  We will pick a common topic, starting line, or post title that all the participating bloggers will write about. Then each blogger will post on the next blogger’s blog.  So, blogger 1 posts on blogger 2’s blog and 2 on 3’s and so on.  This way we create a series of related posts all linked together. Cool huh? Well this month the topic is "What am I NOT thankful for?" I believe this topic was chosen because November is the month people always talk about what they are thankful for. So now it's time to switch it up a bit. 

I was going to pick just one thing I wasn't thankful for and vent about it, but there isn't just one thing I am not thankful for. So I created a list of some of the things I'm not thankful for. So here we go:

1. I'm not thankful for having so many knick-knacks that I have no idea where you stick them so they are all in a box just waiting to be sorted through [which will probably never happen].

2. I'm not thankful for waking up in the morning with the sun beaming right in my face causing me to have a headache.

3. I'm not thankful for the pizza delivery guy taking more than 30 - 45 minutes to bring me my pizza.

4. I'm not thankful for so many commercials during my favorite TV show.

5. I'm not thankful for my sister becoming such a bitch since she is getting back with her ex-husband. She fails to realize he's an ex-husband for a reason.

6. I'm not thankful for always be the one to automatically being called to pick up someone or expected to run an errand for someone because I don't have a job just yet. Doesn't mean that I don't have things to do.

7. I'm not thankful my friend being such an ass to keep talking to this chick that threatened his life. I wish I could remove her permanently from this Earth.

8. I'm not thankful for being accused of sitting outside someone's house for 20 minutes [which I didn't because I have no idea where this chick lives] because she feels threatened by me.

9. I'm not thankful for the 4 hours that separate one of my best friends and me from bring able to see each other.

10. I'm not thankful for getting spam on Twitter.

11. I'm not thankful for Justin Bieber.

12. I'm not thankful for having to wait until next year to see the new Twilight movie.

13. I'm not thankful for sitting at the computer for hours trying to figure out how I am going to design a flyer.

14. I'm not thankful for all these companies wanting to hire people with 5-10 years of Graphic design experience. How is someone out of college going to get that experience if you don't give them a shot. Why not base it off of how well they design?

15. I'm not thankful for despair.nu being shut down because that site really brought a lot of traffic to my blog and now I rarely get people there.

16. I'm not thankful for the many spams emails I get for Viagra and penis enlargements. I am a woman. Enough said. LOL

17. I'm not thankful that I stopped going to hip hop dance class.

18. I'm not thankful for always having to explain how to use the computer to someone because of my profession.

19. I'm not thankful for the weight that I have gained since I lost my job. :-(

20. I'm not thankful for living in the house that I can't really consider my home anymore.

21. I'm not thankful for catching up to all of my shows on DVR and then having to wait a week for the next episode

22. I'm not thankful for someone stealing my ipod at my last job. I really miss it sometimes.

23. I'm not thankful for having an extra permanent guest living in this house next month.

24. I'm not thankful for waking up to the sound of a leaf blower or lawnmower right next to my window

25. I'm not thankful for the sound the doorbell makes when someone is here.

26. I'm not thankful for people telling me they will meet me somewhere at a certain time and I end up having to wait 30 minutes to an hour for them to get there.

27. I'm not thankful for the people that only contact you when they hear something is wrong just so they can get some juicy detail about the situation.

28. I'm not thankful for the people that live in the past.

29. I'm not thankful for feeling like I wasted 6 months out of my life being with someone that I thought was right for me. Oh how I was mistaken. To all my ladies that may be reading this: You should NEVER have to change for anyone. If they can't except you for who you are then they don't deserve you.

and last but not least

30. I'm not thankful for how it feels like it's 10:00pm at 5:30pm because of the time change.

Weekend Wrap-up!

I went back to the grind today after a lovely trip home for Thanksgiving.  Ok...well I kinda went back to the grind.  I also went to a work function at the UN, drank wine, and ate delicious tiny hors d'oeuvres.  We were at the German House so the spread included bite sized schnitzel...yum!!!

Thanksgiving with my family was wonderful but it's a little strange to go from this:

How excited are you about that one traffic light right there!?  The only traffic light in the WHOLE town.  Anyways, being back in town was a very interesting experience for me.  What??  I have to drive 20 MINUTES to get to Starbucks?  Or a bar or anywhere interesting really.  And OMG...I actually have to drive places instead of taking the subway??  It's enough to send a New Yorker into a system failure

On a brighter note, I loved spending time with my family and friends.  Thanksgiving day itself was perfect.  My aunt cooked a delicious dinner and it was a relatively quiet afternoon so there was plenty of time for visiting.  Plus, the Pats won...doesn't get better than that!  I also discovered my new favorite spot to hang out (and *gasp* is only a 15 minute drive!) Scioli's Pizza Bar.  The night we went with my aunt and uncle, we accidentally stumbled upon Milford's 5 year class reunion.  I didn't go to Milford but I just went with it...whatever hahaha.  Anyways, if you ever find yourself in Milford, MA you need to go to this place and get a calzone...they put porketta in them and they are delicious.  After dinner hours the place fills up with 20 somethings.  There are pool tables and a back room for live music.  You should all check it out!

Saturday Silliness

I hope everyone's finally digested their turkey dinners.  I think I finally have!  Today's posting is dedicated to fake infomercials.  This one for "I Beweave Hair Salon" has had me laughing all week.  Maybe it's the free comb they give away so you can play ping pong and flip burgers or maybe it's the fact that they encourage you to also use your weave to mop the floor.  Either way, I promise it will make you laugh.  And if you're looking for more laughs...check out Jones' Big Ass Truck Rental & Storage.

Stuff I Like

I thought about skipping my weekly "Stuff I Like" post because of Thanksgiving, but I have waaaaay too many exciting things to share this week.

1. Girl Talk's All Day

Ever since I was lucky enough to experience Greg Gillis (aka Girl Talk) live in 2007, I have been obsessed with this man.  I think he won me over when he started running through the crowd and grabbing drinks out of people's hands and chugging them.  Or maybe it was the fact that he is an absolute musical genius.  The mash-ups he comes up with will blow your mind.  His newest release All Day came out on November 15th and it does not disappoint.  The way he lays rap tracks over rock tracks and rock tracks over oh so terrible yet amazing 80s ballads is brilliant.  A few of my favorite moments on All Day are when he lays the lyrics to Ol' Dirty Bastard's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" over Radiohead's "Creep" on "Jump on Stage", when Cali Swag District's "Teach Me How to Dougie" is played over the instrumentals to Jane's Addiction's "Jane Says" on "Oh No", and the combination of Trina's "Pull Over" and New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle" on "On and On" is ridiculous.  Basically I can't say enough good things about this album.  To check out a full break down of all the songs sampled on the album check out the Wiki page.  To download your own copy of the album FOR FREE check out Illegal Art.  Girl Talk release's all his albums through this site so stock up while you're there!

2. Fika

Don't tell anyone, but I've been cheating on Starbucks with Fika lately.  Fika is the cutest little Swedish coffee shop (and yes, since my family's Swedish I might be a little biased).  But they have the MOST DELICIOUS coffee in the world.  It's a little pricey so I save it for an occasional treat but it's completely worth it.  I recommend the nonfat mocha lattes.  They melt real chocolate chips into the latte to flavor it!!  They also have some absolutely delicious looking baked goods and chocolates.

3. LeSportsac

I am completely into LeSportsac bags right now.  I have a gray one and it is absolutely perfect for lugging all my stuff to work every day.  It's waterproof, durable, and roomy.  Plus, I think they're kind of cute...I mean come on, how can you not want this black glittery one!  While the crazy patterned ones don't quite work for me as an every day bag, I'm loving them as gym bags and duffles for weekend trips.

4. Thanksgiving

There's no way my list this week couldn't include Thanksgiving!  I'm not going to lie, I'm having some major anxiety about trying to eat healthy over the holidays (and *gasp* I'm going to be separated from the gym) but I'm hoping I'll forget about that the minute I'm home.  I can't wait to spend some time with my family and my New England friends!  Oh and I'll break all my healthy eating habits for a chance to chow down on massive amounts of mashed potatoes.  What's everyone else's favorite Thanksgiving food?

5. Billy the Exterminator

So it's entirely possible that my roommate and I stayed in on Saturday night and watched a Billy the Exterminator marathon...NO JUDGING.  It's a pretty hilarious show.  We watched Billy battle roaches and snakes and all kinds of other awful things (like wasps ahhhhh!).  He also rescues albino raccoons and other noble things.  Ok, so the show might be kinda lame but we liked it and it killed some time haha.  But seriously, check out an episode some time.  Even though it's lame, it's super entertaining (even if you're just laughing at Billy's outfits).

Thanksgiving Travel

Hey everyone...I hope you all have safe and enjoyable trips over the Thanksgiving holiday!  I myself will be braving the Megabus of DOOM tomorrow.  Ok, that was slightly over dramatic but I seriously hate the bus.  I would much rather be enjoying some extra special attention from the TSA.

Weekend Wrap-up!

First of all, I am super excited I found a title for my weekend recap posts that is an alliteration.  Second of all, that's kind of lame of me.  But whatever...I really like alliterations.  This weekend was another crazy one and here's what went down.

1. On Thursday the lovely crew over at HiFi Cartel hooked me up with a spot on the guest list for Simian Mobile Disco's DJ set at Santos Party House.  I went with my amazing co-worker and did a border line unacceptable amount of fist pumping.  But in all seriousness, this place blew me away.  It's full of awkward hipster types that just want to dance and have a good time.  No one cares if you look ridiculous while doing it.  Simian Mobile Disco killed it as always.  I could have easily danced until 4 or 5am...booo having to work the next day.  I tried to take some pictures but all the fog made them come out shitty.  However, I will leave you with the one picture that came out...it pretty accurately sums up the mood of the night.

 2. Went and saw Harry Potter on Friday night with my favorite law student.  It was amazing and we obviously cried like babies.  Afterwards we headed over to Yaffa Cafe for delicious sangria. We also had the GREATEST waiter in the history of the world.  He offered very important advice like "eat the fruits and you'll get really drunk" when he brought our giant pitcher of sangria over, insisted we have the mud cake with whipped cream for dessert, and drew us an adorable picture on our check.  Clearly he's my new best friend.

3. Spent Sunday Funday at the 13th Step and watched the Patriots CRUSH THE COLTS.  This is hands down my favorite Sunday spot.  As Jen Bunny can attest to because I texted her informing I was in "bro heaven".  I love bros...no judging.  The only flaw is that they don't serve Budlight Lime.  However, we got resourceful and ordered a pitcher of Budlight with a glass of limes.  Whabam, homemade Budlight Lime.  My roommate and I may have consumed 4 pitchers of this concoction....by ourselves.  Oooops!

So that was my ridiculous weekend.  It was definitely an adventure.  I'm looking forward to heading home on Wednesday for some quality time with the fam and my MA/RI/New England loves!  There will most definitely be a lot of shenanigans to blog about next Monday.

Saturday Silliness

I hope everyone's enjoying their Saturdays so far!  This week's post is dedicated to the man (or boy I guess), the myth, and the legend...THE BIEBZ.  Apparently, this video came out in April but I spent that entire month being in intense thesis writing mode and totally missed it until recently.  This kid is hilarious!  Like I've mentioned before, I love celebrities that don't take themselves too seriously.  Biebz wins some major points for poking fun at himself for having to go to Chuck E Cheese instead of clubs.  For more Bieber Fever check out these 2 fantastic videos too.  Bieber Screen Saver.  Bieber v. Stuff I Like

Is it just me or is this week dragging on forever?  I just want it to be Friday (and not just because it means I get to see the new Harry Potter movie hahaha).  Hopefully this will lift your spirits and help you get through the count down until the weekend.

1. Cooper 35
I spent this evening's happy hour at Cooper 35.  I wasn't planning on including it on this week's list but it was SO GOOD that I had to make room for it (sorry Sharpies...maybe you'll get your turn next week).  During happy hour all of their cocktails are a mere $3.  And these are not your average cocktails...these are cocktails served in GIANT SIZED GLASSES.  They have everything from your standard whiskey sours to your more exotic woo woos.  The food is unbelievably cheap as well.  It's also unbelievably greasy but when you can get a 3 course dinner with a glass of wine for $16 you can't complain about the quality.  This is definitely my new go to spot for after work drinks.

2. Nelly Pandora Station 

Yesterday I decided creating a Nelly themed Pandora station was vital to my happiness.  It was probably the greatest decision of my life.  (Much much much better than last week's decision to make a Korn and Limp Bizkit themed station...no judging).  Yes, I am aware of the fact that I am a tall, skinny, white, blonde girl.  However, I can also rap along to every word of Big Pun's "Still Not a Player", Petey Pablo's "Freek-A-Leek", and Juvenile's "Back that Azz Up"...all of which were featured on my Nelly station.  And of course, there are also plenty of classics like "Country Grammar", "Batter Up" and "E.I."

3. Victoria's Secret

It's been a stressful couple of weeks for me.  Unlike most women, I don't buy shoes when I'm stressed out.  Instead I run off to Victoria's Secret and buy myself some undies, bras, and ridiculous lacie things to wear for that boyfriend I don't have (aka collect dust in my drawers hahaha).  I have no idea why but I've done this for as long as I can remember.  I guess there are worse habits to have.  Anyways, I am getting ridiculously excited for this year's fashion show (less than 2 weeks away!).  And obviously once it's over, I will immediately log on to my computer and attempt to buy everything that remotely resembles what came down the runway...some one should probably babysit my credit card that night hahaha.

4. Yoga
I've been working out a lot lately and have gotten really into yoga.  I've been practicing for a few years now but now that I'm out of college I finally have time to practice on a regular basis.  I've also almost got the upper body strength to actually do the poses correctly...yay for being a weak girlie girl who's afraid of lifting weights! haha  I've been sticking to Vinaysa but I'm going to try to take 2 classes a week and will add a Hatha class tomorrow.  Hopefully I'll be able to move on Friday!  This week I'm slightly obsessed with the Floor Bow, Camel, and Pigeon poses.

5. Emergen-C

It's officially cold season and I am swearing by Emergen-C.  I absolutely hate getting sick and living in the city means I am constantly exposed to germs!  This stuff is a complete lifesaver.  I start taking it at the first sign of a cold or if I know I've been around someone who's sick.  While it doesn't always completely prevent the cold, it definitely makes the symptoms less severe and the recovery time shorter.  I'm trying to get into the habit of drinking one of these every day.  So far I've been failing miserably but tomorrow I'm going to try to start a streak.  I know I'll be happy when I'm not miserable and sick this winter.

Living in the New New York

I feel like this past week was extremely extremely New York. I've been here for just about 6 months now but I'm still having a lot of "OMG I moved to NYC" moments. Here are some of this week's highlights along with an accompanying soundtrack.  Enjoy!

1. I attended my first ever sample sale and it was quite an experience! There were racks and racks of clothes and all kinds of women tearing through them. All in all, I wasn't overly impressed with the merchandise. $70 for a sample sweater with a hole in it...really J Crew!? But they did have some awesome party dresses. I scored a LBD for $50! And I debated if I should share this but I'll be nice and clue everyone in. On December 10th Clothingline will be hosting a Tory Burch sample sale!  I will legit fight a bitch for a pair of those shoes.

2. I spent Friday night at the farewell dinner for the Russian exchange visitors my company hosted last week.  It was such a special evening!  We all gathered in a Brooklyn brownstone while the Russians cooked us a traditional Russian meal.  The food was delicious and there were a lot of fascinating people with a variety of international backgrounds there.  At any time there were 3 or 4 different languages being spoken and it was a great chance to bring a bunch of different cultures together.

3. My absolutely hilarious freshman year roommate recently shared this NYC experience with me and I think it needs to be included.  On Friday night she ran into 2 Dutch guys who were bound and determined to go to Jamaican Bay.  If you value your personal safety...going to Jamaica, Queens is the WORST IDEA EVER.  It is such a bad idea that a homeless man overheard their conversation and offered them the following advice.  "Even I don't go to Jamaica! Now repeat after me"  *note the next part should be sung to the tune of "September" by Earth Wind & Fire* "Oooooooh Oooooooh Don't got to Jamaica! Oooooooh Oooooooh Don't go to Jamaican Bay!"  Apparently everyone waiting outside the bar then burst into this song.  Amazing

4. Partied like a crazy person on Saturday night all over the Lower East Side.  We checked out Foundation, Mason Dixon, and Bowery Electric.  All super fun places and are definitely worth checking out.  Foundation wasn't as fun as usual, but in the past I've always had a great time there!  I woke up the next morning feeling like death but totally rallied for brunch at Etcetera Etcetera.  Seriously is there anything better than rehashing last night's antics over a mimosa?  Plus, on Sundays they've got a Prix Fixe 2 course brunch (complete with one breakfast cocktail!) for $24!

Saturday Silliness

So I've decided to make Saturday Silliness a new weekly segment of my blog. Face it people, I spend waaaay too much time perusing the internet for outrageous tidbits of information and new youtube sensations. I figure it would only be right of me to share my finds with you!

This week's session is brought to you by your favorite "Dirty Lil Hamster", Angelina Pivarnick of MTV's Jersey Shore. In attempt to prove she's still relevant and that she can do other great things besides bartending...Angelina has released a rap song. I was clued into this catastrophe by a posting on Buzzfeed yesterday. I still can't stop laughing. So far only a short snippet has been released but it contains some really meaningful lyrics like "I take a shot, it hits the spot, then dance a lot, until I drop". Wow. I definitely think we have a platinum single on our hands here. Check out the entire snippet below and I'd love to hear what your favorite line is. Stuff I Like

Hey there loves.  Sorry I've been MIA in reading your blogs lately...work is crazy!!!  12 hour days every day so far this week.  And yes, I am lying in bed drinking a glass of wine right now...no judging.  But enough about my crazy week...it's time for this week's list of what I currently can't get enough of!

1. Kiehls Lip Balm

I don't know about you, but this cold weather is wreaking havoc on my poor lips and skin.  Kiehl's is currently exactly what I need to keep those chapped lips away!  It's moisturizing without being too greasy and it gives you just the right amount of shine.  Plus, these little tubes last forever!  Right now I'm all about their Cranberry scented balm since it's festive for the Holiday season.

2. Sweater Dresses

Sweater dresses have been the perfect fall work outfit for me this season.  They're comfortable, cozy, and keep me warm while I'm trudging through the streets of NYC.  And I can wear them with tights, which I absolutely love wearing!  This adorable one is from Victoria's Secret but if you're looking to save some money, H&M has a great selection right now too.  I'm not sure if this is happening at all of their stores, but the H&M at Herald Square currently has a buy one get one free deal on select knit wear.

3. Yes To Carrots

I know, I know...the name is kinda random but trust me, this stuff is fantastic!  I discovered a bottle of it sitting on my coworker's desk last week and she suggested I try it.  I am officially hooked on this stuff!  Yes To Carrots contains ingredients such as organic carrots, almond oil, pumpkin, and honey.  In other words it smells delicious!  The company also makes a Yes To Tomatoes and Yes To Cucumbers line.  I haven't tried them yet, but I have a feeling they're just as great as the Yes To Carrots lotion.

4. J. Crew Sample Sale
I love all things J. Crew and adorable and am sooooo pumped to check out their sample sale tomorrow.  Judging from Mizhattan's post it seems like they have a few good finds.  I can't wait to get my hands on some sparkly hair accessories...and by some I mean a ridiculously excessive amount.  It'll be my first sample sale so I'm excited!

5. Antoine Dodson's Undying Fame

This post was starting to get too serious so I had to throw an Antoine reference in.  Caitlin at From the Mind of... shared this gem from Fail Blog with me yesterday.  I love tattoos and have a few of my own and everyone knows how much I love Antoine but SERIOUSLY!?  This tattoo is out of control.  But at least Antoine is now forever immortalized...on this weird dude's arm.  Small detail to keep in mind hahaha

Lake Shore

One of my coworkers was nice enough to share this absolutely brilliant find with me...Lake Shore!!!!!!!!!!  Lake Shore is Canada's version of MTV's Jersey Shore.  It's no secret that I'm obsessed with Jersey Shore (I even make a weekly batch of Ron Ron Juice for all new episodes) so I'm looking forward to seeing what this Canadian version is all about.  The folks over at Best Week Ever are hating on this reality gem but I'm optimistic.  The preview was so ridiculous and bad that it's bound to be an extremely entertaining show.  Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think!

Minimalism

First of all...my parents are currently on their way to NYC for the day!  I haven't seen them since Labor Day weekend so I'm looking forward to spending some time with them (and not just because they're bringing my beloved Ugg boots and winter clothes to me hahahaha).  Plus, the Pats are playing today and I'm seriously excited for us to watch the game together.  I read a really interesting blog post today by Britt at Movement is Life.  It's all about female sports fans and I think it's some great stuff.  You should check it out!

Continuing on the theme of discovering interesting blog posts...I'm participating in Lauren at Lauren Nicole Love's Minimalism and Giving Project.  It's such an inspiring idea, especially with the Holidays coming up.  Lauren is encouraging everyone to donate at least 10 items to goodwill or a charity of their choice by November 20th.  Now readers, I know you've all got shoes, jeans, t-shirts, books, and a ton of other miscellaneous items you're not using right now.  We're all guilty of it.  The dress we haven't worn in 3 years but are saving "just in case".  We're never actually going to wear it again.  So why not donate it to some one who needs it?  So far, I've rounded up 6 items and am going to keep looking through my drawers and closets this week.  My roommate has filled an entire trash bag with items to donate.  I encourage all of you to participate in this project!  Leave a comment if you plan to and make sure to contact Lauren and she'll feature you in one of her posts.

If you read my post about the NY Governor's Race you know how much I love Jimmy McMillan.  Unfortunately he and his amazing facial hair will not be running New York in 2011.  But I think his new political movement will really help him win the 2012 presidential election. hahahaha

Stuff I Like

1. Christmas Cups

It's that time of year...Christmas cups and beverages at Starbucks!  Even though I've been trying really hard to save money, I splurged and treated myself to a nonfat mocha to celebrate their return.  For me, the cups signal the beginning of the Holiday season and the upcoming family gatherings, baked goods, and parties.  Plus, it's no secret I'm obsessed with their holiday beverages.  I will be stocking up on extra boxes of Joy Tea before it disappears for another long year.

2. Liz Smith
I had the opportunity to hear Liz Smith speak when I volunteered at Springboard Enterprises' Winners' Circle Dinner.  The dinner honors women entrepreneurs and investors that have helped them reach their goals.  Liz introduced Joni Evans (who received the Northstar Award) and oh my goodness was she a riot.  Liz Smith is 87 years old, and she started her speech by saying "It is an honor to be in a room with so many women who are sleeping with men because they want to".  Everything she said after that was completely hilarious!  I want to be as sassy as her some day.

3. Headbands

I love wearing headbands!  I've got a ton of curly hair and when I wear it down I need something to keep it out of my face.  They're also excellent when you're too lazy to do your hair in the morning.  Throw your hair into a ponytail/bun, slap on a headband, and you look like you put some effort into your hair!  I'm really into Burberry headbands or the sparkly/pearl ones from J Crew.

4. Lifetime Movies

Who doesn't love a good Lifetime movie?  There's nothing like spending a hungover Saturday or a sick day on the couch watching a Lifetime movie marathon.  Bonus points if it stars Tori Spelling or an actor from Full House.  My person favorites include Too Young to Die? and Cabin By the Lake.  What's yours?

5. Dirt Nasty "I Can't Dance"

I absolutely adore Dirt Nasty.  First of all, that man is hot.  Second of all, his music is hilarious!  Not many guys are willing to make fun of themselves for being unable to dance or for having a "baby dick".  This song also features LMFAO and we all know how I feel about their shots song.

Halloweekend!

This weekend was a total success and such an amazing time!  Here's a recap of this weekend's shenanigans which was full of live music and Halloween festivities.

On Friday, I was lucky enough snag a pair of tickets to the invite only Neon Trees show at the PC Richard & Son Theater.  What an amazing place to see a concert!  The whole venue only holds 200 people and you have to win your way in to attend.  Neon Trees put on another one of their phenomenal, high energy live shows.  Tyler Glenn is such an amazing performer.  He really gets the whole crowd into it and that man can dance!  Since I won the tickets on such short notice, I didn't have my camera.  But, here's a shot of Tyler from when I saw them at the Bowery Ballroom.

On Saturday we went to Aspen Social Club at The Stay Hotel for their Halloween Party.  The entire lounge is decorated to look like a ski lodge (sooo cool!) and there are 2 separate bar areas.  The caliber of the DJ can really dictate how the evening goes, and their DJ was awesome.  We were even able to request he play Ke$ha! haha  The hour open bar was fantastic as well.  The only thing that wasn't so fantastic were the $12 drinks after the open bar ended.  Thank god I only needed to order one.

We spent actual Halloween on Long Island, passing out candy to adorable trick or treaters, carving pumpkins, and attempting to decorate Halloween cupcakes...that cupcake decorating class I signed up for can't happen soon enough hahaha.
