Weekend Wrap Up

Friday night was devoted to bar hopping with some friends.  We started our night off with martinis at Bar Louie (it's a chain so if they have one in your area, I'd definitely recommend checking it out!) and then journeyed over to Blackfinn.  I've always heard good things about Blackfinn but we must have gone on an off night since the place was DEAD.  There were a few people milling around but the dance floor was completely empty.  The drinks were also unbelievably weak and definitely not worth the $7 we paid for them.  We quickly abandonned ship and headed over to Lucky Bar.  We had a ton of fun there!  The music and the crowd were great and we danced for hours!

On another note, as we were walking from bar to bar, we spotted these leggings in the window of Unique Boutique.  WHO THE HECK WOULD WEAR THESE THINGS!?  I'd really like to know.

 On Saturday, two of my good friends held a Diamond Jubilee themed potluck lunch.  The theme was so much fun!  Everyone brought British themed food and drinks and we spent the afternoon snacking and chatting.  Afterwards, I met a few friends for dinner at Kramerbooks and then drinks on U Street.  It was the perfect fun yet low key night!

Sunday

Yesterday, I had a blate with the wonderful Courtney at BB to 79th.  Courtney and I met in NYC last year at one of AV's Blogger Meet-ups and we both ended up moving down to DC around the same time.  We had a BLAST soaking up some sun and sipping margaritas at Tony and Joe's.  I think we've officially solidified our plan for Operation Yacht (aka number 8 on my Summer in the City list).  We took a step in the right direction by making some new friends yesterday but sadly, they did not own a yacht.  Better luck next time!
