Stuff I Like

1. Diet Bet

I have quite a few friends who have started using Diet Bet and they've been having great success with their weight loss.  On Diet Bet, you bet a certain amount of money (most bets are between $20-$50 but you can go higher or lower depending on which game you select) that you can lose 4% of your body weight in 4 weeks.  At the end of the 4 weeks, everyone involved in your bet that met the weight loss goal, splits the pot.  It's a fun way to motivate yourself and maybe even win a little bit of money.

2. Iron Man Movies

via Amazon
I confess, until this weekend, I had never seen an Iron Man movie.  I parked my butt on the couch on Sunday night and finally watched the first two...I am COMPLETELY hooked.  Robert Downey Jr. is the perfect Tony Stark and I love how he's just a normal guy with a high tech suit, not with some crazy powers like a lot of super heroes.  I'm already excited for Iron Man 3.

3. Emeril's Beef Stew

via Food Network
The cold weather has had be craving soup so I thought this would be a perfect weekend to make some beef stew.  I opted for Emeril's slow cooker recipe and I was a big fan.  It's super easy to make and turned out absolutely delicious!  Plus, it's loaded with veggies like carrots, peas, mushrooms, and onions so you don't have to feel guilty about eating it.  I recommend using a low sodium beef stock when you make it to prevent it from getting too salty.

4. Macaron Bee

via Macaron Bee
Macaron Bee did the macarons for JLW's Cenetennial Fete and they were incredible.  The milk chocolate above was one of my favorites...and I'm not seeing it on their website but I SWEAR there was a chocolate peanut butter flavor as well.  If you're a macaron fan, they're located in Georgetown and I definitely recommend checking them out.

5. New Politics "Harlem"

I know the Harlem Shake is taking over right now but the real song about Harlem that you should be rocking out to is this one by New Politics.  It's a good one.
