Weekend Wrap Up

I feel like my weekend's have gotten slightly lame lately...I've been going out on week nights more often and by Friday, I am EXHAUSTED.  So this week, I'm doing a joint weekly/weekend wrap up and it's fine.

Wednesday

We've started a new tradition of going to The Pinch for trivia every 2-3 weeks.  Their trivia is seriously the best trivia I've been to in DC.  The categories are excellent and the questions are the perfect mix of hard and easy.  Plus they have a ton of KILLER pulled duck items on their menu.  Pictured above are the loaded sweet potato fries (topped with pulled duck, bacon, and cheese....yummm).  We've dominated the past two times and have come in second and first place.  I'm hoping we can continue our streak during our next visit!

Thursday

On Thursday All the Single Ladies (and Gentlemen) from our group of friends got together at Bar Pilar's annual anti-Valentine's Day party.  We had a great time sipping cocktails like "The Woman on the Side", enjoying their dirty fortune cookies, and rocking out to music like Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me".

Saturday

Saturday brought the revival of The Night of 10 Bars...a tradition that was born back in July.  The Night of 10 Bars is exactly what it sounds like, we attempt to visit 10 bars in one afternoon/evening and it is always a ridiculously fun time!  This time we crawled around Adams Morgan/U Street and hit up Smoke and Barrel, Black Squirrel, Millie and Al's, Shenanigans, Tryst, Jack Rose, De Vinos (technically a wine shop but they were doing a tasting so we counted it), Larry's Lounge, Solly's, and U Street Music Hall.  A few of us more brave souls then hit up Dodge City for a little bit of dancing.

We upped our game from this summer's crawl and added in a list of challenges this round.  They included things like, borrowing an item of clothing from a stranger, getting a piggy back ride, convincing a stranger to join the bar crawl, and getting someone to give you the condom out of their wallet.  The challenges were so much fun and an excellent excuse to talk to strangers.

I'm already excited to resurrect this over the summer.
